Friday 19th July, 2013

It’s been a truncated week.  I spent most of Monday lying on a rug in our garden nursing my sore feet.  I didn’t tell you about this already??  Oh well the thing is I “ran” 62 miles on Saturday.  To be honest I probably did more limping than out and out running, but nonetheless managed to complete the thing in 16 hrs 8 minutes and placed 88th.  Very lucky number! I think I was more pleased about that than anything else.  The event itself was torture.  What’s more, although the organisers gave each of us a nice little book with a route map at the start and, strangely, page upon page of all the local flora and fauna we might expect to see along the way, it is disappointing to have to report that the only animal I noticed was a dead hare at the side of a road we had to cross.  I have also developed an irrational hatred of Dermot O’Leary having listened to him on my radio prattling endlessly away as I trudged along.  Charl Schwartzel, I know how you feel.  Charl Schwartzel snapping his club in two on the 15th

Anyway, normal service to resume next week.  Blisters will have healed and I have a wedding to go to at the weekend which should complete the rehabilitation.  Havn’t been to one of those for 10 years!  Hen has been hired by the bride and groom as the official photographer which should make it interesting.  Actually, just if I still have you, if you are planning a party and want a photographer this summer please drop me a line.  Hen is for hire and will travel.  She is back on form and getting connected.  Doodles are done with.  It’s all about dongles these days.

Hello Dafeed,

I was just wondering if you could please have a chat with some of the people in your office about their dongles.... It would be blooody brilliant if i could get internet in my hen house, and i've heard only good things about dongles. A dongle dingling around would be really soooper...

Thank you,

Hey ho.  Have a good one.

PS Just had a bit of a shock.  One of my Japanese colleagues has received his UK driving licence card which prompted me to look at mine.  It expires in 2 months time…wot???  Am I 75 years old already???!!!
