. I feel I’m getting my feet well and truly back under the desk and raring to go. It’s just a pity the long weekend is getting in the way of all this good work. It’s a complicated weekend too. Heading to Rugby Prize Day where, would you believe it, for the first time at any school any of the four of them has ever attended, one of my kids has won an academic prize. Probably should add there are not many egg heads doing her subject, but well done her nonetheless. So that’s nice. Then it’s off to Berkshire or somewhere like that for yet another 50th birthday party. Where do all these old people in my life appear from I ask myself? The point is the logistics of all this coming and going are pretty tricky. Quite out of character my wife Sophie decided to write it all down in an email to our 15 year old Bob who is coming home tomorrow for half term. I thought I would share their exchange with you.

Dear Jimmy and Bob,
First of all, Daddy and I are arriving on Saturday in time for speeches, Jimmy I am assuming we will be sitting with you, and Bob, I am assuming you won't be allowed in!
We are coming in 2 separate cars, Jimmy will drive you home Bob, and Daddy and I will drive on to our party in Berkshire. We will be home around lunch time on Sunday.
You will both be in charge of dogs etc, and they will need to go out the minute you get home, and taken for a walk. Fed at 5pm and in the morning. Chickens will need to be locked away, and fed and let out in the morning.
Lottie is in a Newmarket and Thurlow Show Jumping Team on Sunday, and Fi Bravery is coming to collect her and River at 6.30 on Sunday morning. When you get home on Saturday, Lottie needs to get River in and bath him, and generally make him beautiful. If you could both make sure that she gets away OK on Sunday I would be really grateful, she is v worried about being responsible all on her own.
Can't wait to see you both,
LOL Mims xxx
The reply was short and sweet…….
